Responsibilities Include: 

Recruiting/Staffing Management

  • Manage the recruitment process and costs for all open headcount positions
    • Generate hire requisitions as needed
    • Generate internal job posting and manages the response process
    • Post open positions externally with the most appropriate resource
  • Manage the interview process, coordinating interviews with external candidates and internal hiring panel
  • Utilize behavioral interviewing skills to screen potential candidates
  • Advise hiring panel on final job offer decision and work with HR Director on an appropriate compensation package when not well-defined
  • Manage the on-boarding process including New Employee Orientation, training schedules, and supporting resources
  • Responsible for Jazz maintenance (ATS system)
  • On-campus recruitment (Texas & south/southwest region) & university job board postings
  • Identification and mitigation of possible non-compete restrictions that candidates may face
  • Assist Director of HR with making sure job descriptions are up-to-date
  • Assist Director of HR on mark-to-market compensation review

Employee Relations/HR Management Support 

  • Provide employee relations support to local management to include appropriate counseling, guidance, and employment termination when necessary.
  • Serve as the daily contact for the local site management and staff to handle employee relations issues, including benefits issues, compensation issues, organizational development or general employment
  • Conduct investigative interviews when employee complaints arise. 
  • Evaluate information gathered and determine the best course of action from a business, ethical and legal compliance 
  • Follows through with the most appropriate action and follow up with original complainant.
  • Manage the on-boarding process including New Employee Orientation, training schedules, entering employees in payroll and enrolling in benefits and supporting resources

Office/Culture Management

  • Works closely with management and HR team to create a positive work environment and develop employee engagement programs
  • Chair all Strive Committees (Social, Wellness, Volunteer)
  • Monitor & order office and kitchen supplies

Requirements

  • Minimum of four years HR generalist experience in a rapidly growing company in a sales environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • Experienced with benefits, payroll, leaves of absence, legal compliance (COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA), federal and local employment laws
  • Experience supporting inside sales, customer service, or technical employee’s a plus
  • Experience in a matrix organization a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills; builds trust easily
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, open office environment
  • Self-motivated; able to work independently with an understanding of when to escalate issues
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and use good judgment
  • Effectively handles multiple priorities and manages time efficiently
  • Preferred HR certificate (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) 
  • Must possess a high degree of cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Reports into HR Director located in Chicago
